A field system is an area of historic agriculture. It is recognizable on aerial imagery by cropmarks, overgrown walls or remaining walls (most likely dry_stone). Sometimes, other historic features like remains of houses, hut_circle, ancient trackways or cashels (ringfort=cashel) are present. The field system can also include or represent a shieling.
In dating, they can range from prehistoric to modern times in recently depopulated areas.
How to map
Ideally, draw the area of the field system and add historic=archaeological_site + archaeological_site=field_system. If the extend is difficult to ascertain, use a node.
