The attraction key covers all kinds of dedicated attractions, especially the features commonly found in theme parks, water parks, and zoos.

attraction roller_coaster area node Roller coaster - Represents the area of the roller coaster installation.

The roller coaster tracks can also be drawn as line way and tagged roller_coaster=track. Different types of tracks can be indicated with roller_coaster:track=*. Do not tag them as a railway.

attraction summer_toboggan area node A big slide with small vehicles in a halfpipe or on rails, see e.g. http://www.rodelzentrum.de - the area of the installation should be tagged.

If there are rails, they can be drawn as line way and tagged roller_coaster=track. Do not tag them as any railway.

attraction train way node A trackless vehicles styled as train used to visit a park and see other attractions or views. This is not a roller coaster. It is best to tag the railways or a centre node.

Do not tag them as any railway or roller coaster tracks!

attraction boxer node A boxing machine, typically found in arcades or entertainment venues. Players punch a padded target, often attached to a sensor that measures the force of the punch and displays a score. May involve a single punching bag or a simulated opponent.

arcade_game=*

A double boxing arcade machine. Two side-by-side units feature hanging punching bags, digital score displays, and colorful graphics of a boxer. Each unit has bright LED lights outlining the frame and base.

Notes

This is not a subkey of tourism=attraction since the attractions are usually part of bigger feature, such as an amusement park. As of 2022-04-07, 30.7% of the attraction=* tags are paired with a tourism=attraction tag.

As of April 2022, attraction=animal is still the most common value for the attraction key with roughly 40% of the values.[1]

Possible tagging mistakes

If you know places with this tag, verify if it could be tagged with another tag.
Automated edits are strongly discouraged unless you really know what you are doing!
