Tools for this tag |
|
This value indicates there is no connection between two or more lines coming from different directions sharing a given support at different levels.
It avoids the use of tags like connection=no. It is intended to simplify tagging by avoiding values line_management=(straight)|(straight) (complete cross) or line_management=(straight)|(termination) (incomplete Y).
If levels are connected, it's a simple branch and line_management=branch applies.
This value can't be combined with any other to describe situations on the same support level.
It is not part of IEC 60050 norm.
Possible mistakes
Only branch supports combined with branch:type=cross should be carefully replaced by line_management=cross.

UK | - | This is not a valid situation for line_management=cross. Lines have to share a common support without connection to be considered crossing. |

Philippines | Steel pole 206 of Hermosa-Duhat-Balintawak transmission line, located along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Santo Tomas, Pampanga, has an additional insulators at its lower part to support the Mexico-Calumpit line. It is a cross tower because the two lines form a letter "X" shape. | |

Philippines | A taller steel pole located inside National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Balintawak substation and beside steel pole 515 of Hermosa-Duhat-Balintawak transmission line (with pole 515 serves as the last pole and structure of the said line), constructed in 2020, serve as steel pole 1 of San Jose del Monte-Balintawak Transmission Line line 3. It is a cross tower with the same reason as Hermosa-Duhat-Balintawak and Mexico-Calumpit lines from before where they also form a "X" shape (with San Jose del Monte-Balintawak Transmission Line line 3 (where this pole belongs to) on a lower part and an additional asymmetrical insulators the the pole's upper part to support the Hermosa-Duhat-Balintawak line). |
