A crevasse is a deep crack in the ice of a glacier that forms due to stresses in the ice and constitutes an obstacle and a hazard to hikers and mountaineers. See Crevasse on Wikipedia for more information.
Although the location of individual crevasses can change rather quickly on a fast moving glacier the general area and pattern in which crevasses occur is usually quite constant making mapping of them useful even if it is not fully up-to-date.
natural=crevasse is the most widely used tag to map crevasses.
How to map
Within the area of a glacier mapped as natural=glacier crevasses can be mapped as either lines by drawing a way along them or as areas by drawing a closed way or a Relation:multipolygon covering the area of the crevasse and tagging it with natural=crevasse.

Tag use
While the total number is quite high this is used only on a few spots worldwide, see https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/?key=natural&value=crevasse&filter=all#map.
See for example - https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1czA There are 2432 ways on this little glacier alone. And with this detailed mapping it is probably highly outdated anyway[1].
