Any plans to add Seventh series alongside NPE as they come out of copyright? ShakespeareFan00 14:35, 6 April 2008 (BST)

Scottish sheets
Are there plans for including the Scottish sheets that are available? At the moment, npe.openstreetmap.org serves up empty black tiles for the whole of Scotland, which isn't particularly helpful.--Tms13 11:03, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- If it’s the projection of the Scottish Popular maps that’s the problem, couldn’t you use Seventh Series maps form the 1950s? Or wasn’t there a problem with the maps of the Highlands at the time? Wynndale 11:26, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- The maps I'm referring to are on gpx.npemap.org.uk, so I don't see why they can't be on npe.openstreetmap.org...--Tms13 13:37, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- gpx.npemap.org.uk is a much-more "rough and ready" rectification than npe.openstreetmap.org. I've got copies of the original scans for the Scottish sheets (though, unlike the E&W ones, they're not actually mine), though, and need to find the time to work out a way of helping people to rectify them properly a la E&W. --Richard 17:59, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation. If I can help with the alignment/rectification, let me know! --Tms13 17:25, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure if it's any use but i came across this recently: http://geo.nls.uk/maps/popular/google.html --tommg 17:16, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
This is becoming less relevant now that 7th Series sheets are coming out of copyright.
Getting hold of tiles
Says on the main page to get tiles using a URL that ends up with /z/y/x where z y and x are "Google like coordinates". Can somebody add a bit more explaination for those of us who don't know what Google like coordinates means. - User:Bogzab 10:40, 30 July 2009
- OK. See Slippy map tilenames -- Harry Wood 14:05, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, that's v helpful
