Tagging: cycleway:*:oneway=*
Applies to: way
Definition: scratchpad to discuss and/or clarify oneway related tags and feature interpretation

OSM differs between cycle lanes and cycle tracks. A cycle lane lies within the roadway itself (on-road), whereas a cycle track is separate from the road (off-road). Tracks are typically separated from the road by e.g. curbs, parking lots, grass verges, trees, etc. For general information see Bicycle.

The tag sets given below

  • assume a consistent interpretation of all oneway related tags, unaffixed or not.
  • are interpreted solely based on the direction of the osm way which is given by the order of its node list.
  • refer to the left side location of a subject walking forward from first to last way node, for :left suffixed keys
  • .. and respectively to the right side location for :right suffixed keys

Cycle tracks

Road (UK) or path (USA, Canada) dedicated to cyclists on separate right of way.
All Way A's have bicycle=use_sidepath in common if that applies within the jurisdiction of the object mapped for T1..T4 cases.
