Organised Editing/Activities/Club Alpino Italiano/2022
This is a project organized by the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) aiming to add all hiking trails in Italy into OSM for which current data is available internally at the CAI or from other data sources with compatible open licenses. There is a memorandum of understanding between the CAI and the Italian local chapter, Wikimedia Italia which governs this project. More information can be found here: IT:CAI

Timeframe for the activity
This is an ongoing effort following the agreement stipulated with the local OpenStreetMap chapter in October 2016, rennovated in February 2021 and in February 2024.

Metrics for measuring the success
The added or verified and updated trails are counted and the number is compared to the amount of available trail data for the area. Remuneration is time based and not depending on the number of routes. Every route will be checked against a GPS survey recording for final verification.
