The tag aeroway:research=rocket_range is used to map a rocket range. A rocket range is a site for launching suborbital rockets (within the atmosphere).
How to map
- Create a closed way around the extent of the rocket range area (often co-incident with a barrier of some kind).
- For complex boundaries create a relation:multipolygon and add the tags to the relation.

Other suborbital launches
Launch infrastructure for suborbital Sounding_rockets is not called an aeroway=spaceport (or as it's infrastructure, such as aeroway=launchpad), as nothing launches to space. Some other suborbital launch examples which use similar infrastructure :
