Inspired by GeoBus, the OpenStreetMap Philippines Inter-Island Road Trip is an idea primarily aimed at improving OpenStreetMap data in MIMAROPA, the Visayas and Mindanao (including but not limited to downtown areas, tourist spots and ferry routes) while promoting OpenStreetMap in the said regions.
Planned itinerary
- Day 1
Leave Manila, Arrive in Calapan City. Full day mapping in Calapan
- Day 2 to Day 5
Map town centers from Naujan to Bulalacao, check out if there are ferry routes going to Marinduque and/or Romblon
- Day 6 to Day 8
Leave Mindoro for Caticlan, then verify everything in Boracay
- Day 9
Map town centers between Caticlan and Kalibo
- Day 10
Map downtown Kalibo
- Day 11 to Day 13
Rest days
- Day 14 to Day 18
Map town centers and various tourist attractions (including roadside stops) between Kalibo and Roxas City
- Day 19 to Day 24
Map downtown Roxas City, then map town centers and various tourist attractions (including roadside stops) between Roxas City to Estancia, Iloilo
- Day 25 to Day 26
Map Estancia and check if there are ferry routes connecting Estancia and other (nearby) towns in the Visayas
- Day 27 to Day 28
Rest Days
- Day 29 to Day 34
Leave Estancia for Passi City via Lemery, Iloilo.
- Day 35 to Day 36
Map and verify Passi City.
- Day 37 to Day 39
Rest days
- Day 40 to Day 45
Map town centers and other points of interest between Passi City and Iloilo City
- Day 46 to 49
Map town centers and other points of interest between Iloilo City and San Jose, Antique
- Day 50
Map the San Jose town center
- Day 51 to Day 53

Go back to Iloilo and map other points of interests that you "missed" en route to San Jose
