Outdoor Warning Siren mapping

This side project documents mapping of outdoor warning sirens in selected parts of the United States.

Q&A

  • What is the purpose of mapping outdoor warning sirens?
    • I felt that such structures are undermapped, especially in areas where there are high occurrences of tornado outbreaks, flooding, storms and various weather events.
  • Why start in Greater Tulsa Region in Oklahoma and Hennepin County in Minnesota?
    • They were purposely chosen due to the occurrence of tornado outbreaks in those areas among others.
  • What else to take note of?
