How to map
Draw an area around the perimeter of the platform. This is the preferred, more detailed method, however drawing a single way along the centre of the platform is acceptable.
Required tags:
- railway=platform - Define it as a platform.
- area=yes - Necessary if the platform is mapped as an area.
Optional tags:
- ref=* - Platform reference number.
- name=* - Name of the platform, if it has one.
- surface=* - The surface of the platform; e.g. asphalt, paved etc.
- width=* - Width of the platform (if mapped as a linear way).
- wheelchair=* Acceptable access by wheelchair.
Ancillary items
Items associated with a platform, preferably mapped as separate entitles to allow accurate positioning.
- amenity=bench - A bench to sit down.
- amenity=waste_basket - A receptacle in which to place litter.
- amenity=shelter - A covered area to shelter from the weather.
- amenity=toilets - A public convenience.
